To cope with the increasing demand of its products as also for their diversification, in the wake of rising popularity because of their design, quality and manufacturing skill, Saxby gradually added one more factory at Tangra in 1956 to the original Works at Entally. While that Entally unit continue to specialise in the manufacture of Brakes of diverse types, the Tangra Unit has widened its range by the production of items of more sophisticated, for Railway yards.
This Unit has engineering and manufacturing department. The prime objective of this division is to conceptualise the railway signaling projects and to supply key equipment to the same through in-house production. The Plant is a pioneer in this field and initially, the plant was engaged in the production of mechanical signaling for railways, which was subsequently replaced by electro-mechanical signaling. The plant has updated the electrical signaling system, which was derived through evolutionary process. The Unit has a self-sufficient infrastructure comprising of well-experienced group of technical staff and machinaries for doing such job, viz. Panel interlocking and Route Relay interlocking. Drawings and designs are done with the help of Auto—Cad Machine in the in—house Drawings Department |
